Sarah Lentz, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Sarah Lentz earned her medical degree from Dartmouth School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at Emory School of Medicine. She also earned a Master of Public Health degree from Yale School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. Dr. Lentz’s medical career includes serving in the United States Air Force as a general surgeon for four years. During that time she was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2003 and Iraq in 2006 She previously served as medical director of The Women’s Place at Carroll Hospital Center from 2007 to 2010 and chairman of surgery at Martinsville Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, Va. Dr. Lentz is board certified by the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, American Society of Breast Surgeons and Patrick Henry Medical Society of Southern Virginia. Dr. Lentz specializes in advanced laparoscopy, breast surgery and endocrine surgery. She also performs gallbladder surgeries, colonoscopies, hernia repairs and hemorrhoidectomies. |
Stuart Shindel, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Stuart Shindel earned his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, OH, and completed his residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Shindel was chief resident at Union Memorial from 2005-2006. He is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery and fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Northwest Hospital Center in Baltimore. Before joining Carroll Surgical Associates, Dr. Shindel was an Attending General Surgeon for General Surgery Specialists in Baltimore. |
John A. Steers, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. John A. Steers earned his medical degree from The University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and completed an internship and residency at University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. He was administrative chief resident in the Department of Surgery at University of Maryland Medical System. Dr. Steers is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery. He is the director of minimally invasive general surgery at Carroll Hospital Center and is da Vinci trained for minimally invasive robotic surgery, including single-site™ gallbladder removal. |
Roxanna Nemec, P.A.-C.

Physician Assistant Roxanna Nemec has more than 12 years of experience in surgical services, focusing on general surgery for the past seven years. She graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at Gannon University in Erie, PA, and is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Ms. Nemec assists with patients from office or emergency room visit to inpatient stay. |
